Breeder of World Champion Bloodlines

With decades of breeding and know-how at our disposal, we are working to bring to south-central Alabama some of the best American Brahman-influenced animals currently being marketed in the United States.  Through partnering with and purchasing animals from J.D. Hudgins Inc., Forgason Division, and then bringing select animals back home to cross on both Purebred Angus and Commercial herds, Rafter J Ranch is producing high-quality Brahman F-1 Females which are offered For Sale as replacements.  The Ranch also has For Sale a diverse set of Herd Bull Prospects each year.

Please see the For Sale Page for more photos.  Contact via:  RafterJRanch@msn.com

What we were breeding in the 1980's, the Ranch still breeds today - proven, superior Brahman genetics.

If we don't have on the ground what you are looking for, we will work with you to find it - for example, we take pride in being able to work closely with folks like the good people at J.D. Hudgins Inc. to help bring you select Registered American Brahman Herd Bull prospects at any time.  Often we keep such Bulls on consignment at our ranch for viewing.

Here is pictured the premium dam, JDH Lady Manso 780/3, "Flossy", and her heifer born in March of 2006.

Pictured here is the Alabama-born Brahman Bull, RJR Lex Manso 1.

Below is one of the Ranch's primary Herd Bulls, JDH Mr Manso 644/3, born 25 Mar 01.  This Bull came from Richard and Flossy Forgason, J.D. Hudgins, Inc. - Forgason Division, and we stood him from maturity.  644 passed away in April of 2011, however limited Frozen Semen is available - if interested, please contact either our farm, or Richard Forgason or Lana Jo Stanley at J.D. Hudgins Inc. in Hungerford, Texas.

As you can see, along with breeding for superior physical qualities, we also highly value good temperaments!  Here is Rabbit, a Brahman heifer, and her buddy Clancy, having a snack in the horse barn.  Clancy, a commercial son of JDH Mr Manso 644/3, is now a herd bull in Arkansas.
